FAQs

  • For dogs we require proof of vaccination for DHP (or DAP) – it is a combination vaccination for Distemper, Hepatitis and Parvovirus. Some vets will also administer the DHLPPC combination to include protection from Leptospirosis, Parainfluenza and Coronavirus. We also require a vaccine for Rabies and Bordetella (canine cough).

For cats we require proof of vaccination for Rabies, Distemper, Leukemia and FIP (feline infectious peritonitis).

We also recommend that your pet be on a flea and tick prevention program.

  • Yes, we recommend that you bring your pet’s regular food in a hard plastic container. We strongly recommend that you keep your pet on their regular diet as a change may upset their stomachs.

  • Yes, we can administer medication. As long as your pet is willing to receive the medications in a treat or food, we have no problem providing the medication that you need. Please provide the specific instructions and the required medication.

  • Yes, you can bring your own bed, we recommend that you limit this to one comfort item (bed, cushion) per dog. We like to maintain a high level of cleanliness and having more items will make this challenging.

We do not recommend that you bring your own bowl, we have stainless steel dishes for all of our guests.

  • We have found that there is so much external stimulus in the new environment that the dogs do not really engage in their toys from home. If you do bring a toy, please ensure that it is a well used and familiar toy as new toys can be a choking hazard.

  • It is not guaranteed that the dogs staying for overnight boarding will play together. We sometimes allow overnight boarding dogs the opportunity to join our day care “Play Group”, but this depends on the dog’s temperament and ability to play within the group. We are careful about introducing dogs for play time together and will sometimes bring them out in small groups of the similar size.

If you have a preference to have your dog be separate from other dogs at all times, please let us know. In these situations, we recommend boarding in a Junior Suite to avoid any interaction and anxiety that may bring.

  • Yes, of course! Dogs in the same family can board together. There is an additional fee of $17/night, and we have room in our Double Runs within general boarding or in the Deluxe Suite in the private rooms for the added space.

Cats from the same family can also be together. The cat rooms can hold up to two cats with an additional $10/night for the second cat.

  • Please contact us to arrange for any pick-ups outside of our normal operating hours – as this must be pre-arranged, and there is a $35 fee.

Our overnight boarding check-out time is 11am. Day care fees will apply if your pet is checked-out between 4pm and 6pm.

  • Facility tours are by appointment only. We are not always staffed to accommodate a tour while operating the kennel.

We try to accommodate short facility tours for pet owners to get comfortable with the system and the environment. We recommend that first-time boarders acclimate their pets with a short overnight stay in advance of a longer stay, as the facility tour is for the owners.

We also cannot accommodate facility tours during our busiest periods (December holidays, March break and the months of July and August). When our facility is full, we cannot commit enough time to give a proper tour – it’s all hands on deck looking after our furry guests. If you have a reservation during one of our peak periods, and would like a facility tour, please arrange a visit in advance of the peak period.
